How to open and verify a paypal account in Nigeria

The issue of PayPal and Nigeria has been around for a very long time.

Especially when Nigerians were not allowed to use their service, to either send or receive payment.

As a result, many questions were asked like:

How to open a PayPal account?

How to open and verify a PayPal account in Nigeria etc.

These questions were raised because of the inability of Nigerians to use the service make or receive payment online.

In 2014, Nigeria and 9 other countries were allowed to start using PayPal, but only to make payment and not to receive it.

Well even though it was a great step, there is still one more step remaining: that’s how to start receiving payment.

Well, that’s the whole essence of writing this article as I will show you the step by step process you’ll need to open, verify and begin to use the PayPal account to receive and make payment.

Is this legal?

It is. In 2015, I emailed PayPal and ask them if they can allow Nigerians to begin to receive payment.

They replied me by telling me that they’ve submitted a formal request to the Nigerian government whom they’re waiting for their approval.

They further ask me to use another method like using a friend or relative in an approve country who’ll open and verify it for me or I can use the third party means.

Well, that’s what I will be showing you. But before we go into the steps required, let’s know what PayPal is.

What is PayPal?

Paypal is the most secure online payment solution, where you can send and receive money online without exposing your credit or master card details.

Rather using your registered email address.

How do PayPal works?

Once you have an account (which I will be showing you how you can create one in a moment), you’ll have to log into it and save your card details.

When making a transaction, you use the email you sign up with and authorize PayPal to make the payment on your behalf.

Paypal withdraws the money from your bank account, and send it to the person you’re sending to.
